The world of Morris Dancing has another festive winter ahead, which started with the Ulverston’s Dickensian Festival. The cobbled streets of Ulverston were awash with wanderers of the Dickensian era, all dressed up and ready for the occasion. There was a range of art and craft stalls, interesting bites to eat, musical performances and plenty of dancing. This is one of the major Morris Dancing events 2016. Every year many people come to enjoy the Christmas spirit of the town. Included in things to experience are hog roasts, balloon modeling competitions and plenty of carol singing. Morris Dancing events 2016 are not complete without a visit to this magic and timeless festival, often known as ‘England’s finest Christmas market’. The town mayor also uses the day to switch on the Christmas street lights, formally welcoming the spirit of the season. The festival is a yearly occurrence, so if you missed it this year, don’t be disappointed. This is one of the many fine events that Morris enthusiasts will try to visit, as it is a cultural event reflecting the rich heritage of the Morris dancing culture.
